On these trips we are typically fishing out beyond the Middle Grounds in 180-240 ft of water and this area tends to change both the species that we can catch as well as the fishing style that we can use to catch them. Most of the summer season on these trips we are targeting Red Snapper, Red Grouper, and Scamp Grouper on the bottom fishing side on these trips and we also historically do very well with Blackfin Tuna and Mahi. This is also an excellent trip if you are looking to use Slow Pitch Jigging gear or any other light tackle option. We also understand that bottom fishing in 200+ feet of water can be very physically taxing so we do have electric reels available if customers would like to use them. Understandably we need to be as efficient as possible on these longer trips to try and put as many species as possible in the box and having electric reels on board can certainly help with getting our bottom fish in the boat so that we can devote time to targeting palegics like Blackfin Tuna, Mahi, and Wahoo. These trips usually run from 3:30am-3:30pm and we supply all gear necessary but we do allow clients to bring there own gear as long as they communicate with the captain in regards to this.
