Middle Grounds Fishing Trip
We offer 14 hour trips to the Middle Grounds during the months of May through October. We provide jumbo marine grade bean bag chairs for each client for the 90 mile trip out to some of the best bottom fishing there is. Typically we arrive at the fishing grounds around 5:30 am and begin catching snapper and grouper as the sun comes up. We’ll also put out flat lines for kingfish and wahoo which bite more at sunrise. As the sun comes up the grouper bites usually picks up and we switch over to catching them. Around 11am we usually start working our way home targeting whichever species of fish that we have not maxed out on yet. Our 42 ft Freeman is designed and built specifically for long range fishing trips boasting a cruising speed of 40-45 mph while maintaining a great ride.
We specialize in catching as many species as possible. In addition to bottom fish we also target pelagic species such as Dolphin, Wahoo, and Blackfin tuna when possible. The bottom fish we target on the Middle Grounds are Vermillion Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, lane Snapper, Red Snapper, Gag Grouper, Scamp Grouper, Red Grouper, Amberjack, Kingfish, Cobia, and Red Porgies. With such a variety of species to target we have no trouble bringing home a box full of fish on these fantastic trips.

What to Bring:
- Sunscreen
- Polarized Sun Glasses
- Food
- Drinks (other that water, if desired)
- Hat
- Non-skid shoes or sandals (no black soles)
- A Camera
- A Small Cooler – (For your fish)
- Sea-sick pills (if you need them). You can get a prescription patch from your doctor if you have had problems before, they are excellent.
